UK-based DJ, artist and producer James Hurr is rapidly establishing himself as a global force in house music. Long respected as one of the industry’s most in-demand producers, he is nows tepping firmly into the spotlight as an artist in his own right, bringing a high-energy, 90s-influenced house sound to dancefloors worldwide.
Over the past decade, Hurr has built an exceptional catalogue, collaborating with artists including Tiesto, Alok, Amelie Lens, Armin Van Buuren, Mark Knight and Hannah Laing, while earning consistent support from BBC Radio 1 and Kiss FM. His productions have amassed over 300 million Spotify streams, with standout records including the platinum-selling ‘Good Love’ and club-focused releases like ‘You Get Down’, which has become a staple in DJ sets worldwide and was supported by the likes of Carl Cox who played it at the opening of revered Ibiza club UNVRS. Recognised by 1001 Tracklists as one of the world’s most-played producers (peaking at #8), Hurr’s influence spans both underground credibility and mainstream impact.
Alongside his studio success, James Hurr’s DJ career is entering a new phase of international growth. Recent performances have taken him across the US and Asia, with standout shows in cities including Los Angeles, Miami, Toronto and Phuket, as well as appearances for leading brands such as Toolroom during Miami Music Week. He has also played to packed crowds at major club events including Hannah Laing’s DOOF in Dublin, and last year made his debut at Hï Ibiza, widely regarded as the number one club in the world. With further international dates across Europe and North America, including Montreux Jazz Festival and Ibiza his reputation asa DJ is rapidly catching up with his studio pedigree.
A prolific collaborator and studio innovator, Hurr has released music on leading labels including Toolroom, Armada Music, Defected Records, Spinnin’ Records and Atlantic, while also delivering remixes for artists such as Lady Gaga, Ely Oaks, Kylie Minogue and Christina Aguilera. His harder-edged alias HVRR, signed to Ministry of Sound, continues to explore amore high-energy club sound, complementing his core artist identity. His collaborative project Hrrtz with Paul Harris, has delivered releases on Anjunabeats and Selected Records, including a collaboration with Armin van Buuren, and support from Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy Radio.
