
Illyus Barrientos is a Glasgow-born DJ and producer known for his raw, percussive house sound and high-energy performances. With releases on respected labels including Toolroom, Defected and Nervous Records, Illyus Barrientos has built a reputation for delivering club-focused records that balance groove, soul and impact.
He began the year with the Toolroom hit Deep Down, following the underground success of his former NO.ID exclusive People’s Prty, which picked up widespread DJ support from Carl Cox, Kilimanjaro, HoneyLuv, Chris Lake and Hot Since 82. His releases have also received consistent support from Sam Divine, FISHER, Mark Knight and Armand Van Helden.
Illyus Barrientos has delivered official remixes for artists including Armand Van Helden, Duke Dumont, Dom Dolla, Purple Disco Machine, Calvin Harris and Sonny Fodera, further establishing his sound across both underground and mainstream dance floors.
As a DJ, Illyus Barrientos has performed at some of the world’s most recognised clubs and festivals including Fabric, The Warehouse Project, Printworks, Hï Ibiza, Ushuaïa Ibiza, CRSSD Festival and Splash House, alongside headline club shows across Europe and North America including PRYSM Nightclub.
Alongside touring and production, Illyus Barrientos also works as an A&R for Electronic Nature, helping shape new releases and support emerging talent. He has delivered a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix and currently hosts Toolroom Radio, broadcasting his sound and curating new music to a global weekly audience.
His collaborative catalogue includes work with A-Trak, Josh Butler, Gene Farris, DJ Deeon, Danny Howard and Marshall Jefferson, reflecting his ability to move comfortably between underground credibility and global club culture.
